DAY 3 TWEE RIVIEREN ALONG THE AUOB RIVER

In 2000 the park combined with its sister park in Botswana to form the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park the first transfrontier park in Africa. The park is 38 000 km^2 making it one of the largest parks in the world.

First morning in the park!

Lanner Falcon.

Gemsbok.

They do not need to drink water as they get all the moisture they need from a wide variety of food, including tsamma melons and other succulent plants. We always saw them hangging around waterholes!

Springbok
Large heards like goats, all over the place.

Ground Squirrel.

Evidence of kats but no kats to be seen!

We were lucky enough to see 3 Cheetah who had a quick drink and then moved off.

The Geraffe seem so much lighter here.

Black Backed Jackal. You see these guys trotting everywhere.

The colouring of the Gemsbok is really striking.

Red Hartebeest.
