DAY 10 ADDO ELEPHANT NATIONAL PARK

First night at Addo....? We had a great campsite but the power went off and had to run a lead to the a spare site across the road. This was the beginning of the school holidays, not a good idea! The camp was jam packed with screaming kids on their bicycles, braai fires going everywhere and "sakie sakie" music. As for the sounds of the night I got up at 1 am to go to the loo and was confronted by a concerto of various snoring sounds and the roar of a distant lion in the bush. See article in latest Caravan & Outdoor Life "Snoring Safari".

Spotted this pair quite relaxed.

Plenty of Kudu who appear to graze as well as browse.

On the lookout. While we were out enjoying our drive our tent was being raided by one of his mates. They ripped a hole in our portable cupboard and there was rice everywhere!

Had to wait for the slow traffic.

Encephalartos Horridus. This Cycad is indigenous to the Eastern Cape. I would love to have one of these.
